The Band On Tour
Tom Dean - 6 & 12 String Guitar, Mandola & Vocals
As a singer, songwriter and producer of the distinguished folk/rock band Devonsquare, Tom's song "Walking On Ice" helped earn them a coveted record deal with Atlantic Records in the 1990’s. As producer, arranger, singer, multi-instrumentalist and band leader for The Nutopians, Tom brings intelligence and a wealth of experience and talent to the stage. He also still has most of his hair and a major portion of his brain cells still intact.
Rex Fowler - Guitars & Vocals
Rex Fowler is one-half of celebrated folk/rock duo, Aztec Two-Step. As mastermind, co-producer/arranger of "Imagined," Rex brings his unique and expressive voice to the live show. Long-time followers of Aztec Two-Step will not be surprised by the beauty and depth of Rex's interpretations of these amazing John Lennon songs. Unlike his co-conspirator Tom Dean, Rex’s motto is who needs brains (or hair!) when you have a lion’s heart. Right Toto?
Jordan Jancz - Cello & Percussion
Besides having the best hair in the band, Jordan has recorded and toured with an illustrious list of artists and bands, including Broadway Orchestras and Theatre Groups throughout the U.S. and the free world. Jordan brings a wealth of musical knowledge and sophistication to The Nutopians. We are extremely honored and fortunate to have both Mr. Jancz’s hair and his musicianship in our band.
Alana MacDonald - Violin & Vocals
As a lead singer, songwriter and founding member of Devonsquare, Alana brings much needed beauty, as well as passion and excitement to the John Lennon Song Project. Her powerfully expressive lead vocals and honey butter harmonies, coupled with her vibrant violin playing and sparkling stage presence helps elevate The Nutopians live performances to heights that they could only have dreamed of.
Teg Glendon - Bass Guitar and Vocals
For more than 30 years Thomas Evers Glendon has been a revered contributor to Maine’s resurgent music scene. As a member of the Franklin Street Arterial, Portland’s renowned jazz fusion band, and as the treasured bassist with Devonsquare, Teg’s virtuosity is the foundation on which The Nutopians builds its live show upon. Born and bred in Brooklyn, Teg remains a fugitive from the law of averages and the only band member to have seen the Beatles perform live.
Robby Coffin - Electric and Acoustic Guitars & Vocals
Robby Coffin is one of Maine’s most respected guitarist. He has recorded and toured with such notable artists as Peter Paul and Mary, Dave Mallett, The Don Campbell Band and of course Devonsquare. His ingenious guitar stylings bring rich and sundry colors to the sound palette of the The Nutopians concerts. Robby’s winning smile also makes him the band’s only legit chic magnet.
(Sorry girls, he’s married!)
Gary Schreiner - Accordion & Chromatic Harp
As either a composer, producer, arranger or studio musician, at some point within the last day, week or month, you’ve probably heard or seen something that Gary has been involved with musically. Gary has also played piano, harmonica, accordion for an array of impressive headliners including Joan Osborne, Patti Labelle, Carly Simon and Yoko Ono. Gary is our shining star and the cherry on top of our sundae serenades.
Maggie Coffin - Vocals
15 year old Maggie Coffin, daughter of guitarist Robby Coffin lends us her beautiful singing voice on occasion. She also reminds us to stay young at heart. She's a tough act to follow.
